Supporting Individuals with Sensory Impairments - Vision, Hearing, Multi-Sensory and Neurological Needs

This training offers a deep understanding of how sensory impairments shape the way individuals see, hear and experience the world.  This engaging session offers valuable insight into the realities of living with sensory impairments and provides practical ideas to create more inclusive and supportive environments.  The session will encourage empathy, understanding and confidence in promoting independence and wellbeing for all.

Course Aims:

To understand the different types of sensory impairments including Cerebral Visual Impairment and brain based listening challenges

To explore the 'lived experience' of individuals with sensory impairments

Acknowledge the impact of sensory impairments on daily life and the common emotional responses

Explore strategies for inclusion in everyday activities

Identify strategies to foster engagement. independence and emotional wellbeing
