Understanding and Supporting Learners with Visual Impairments in the Classroom

 

In this focused session, participants will explore the different types of ocular visual impairments as well as Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), one of the most common but often misunderstood forms of visual impairment in children. You will explore how vision loss or processing difficulties impact learning, behaviour, and access to the curriculum, whilst considering practical classroom strategies to improve accessibility and reduce visual stress and ways to adapt resources, use assistive technology, and create an inclusive learning environment
